Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.Posted on Google![]()

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!
Fountain Hills sits several hundred feet above the valley floor on hillside and wash-adjacent lots, and homes built from the 1970s through today carry a traditional three-coat stucco system over wood or steel-stud framing. Direct sun on south and west elevations pushes cured stucco through wider daily temperature swings than the valley floor sees, and hairline cracking opens at window returns, foam trim, and control joints faster up here.
Once a crack opens, monsoon wind drives rain sideways into the substrate long before gravity gets involved, and elastomeric coatings applied a decade ago have usually chalked out and lost their flex. That combination is why most exterior work at this elevation ends up as a full recoat or a partial re-stucco at the cracked plane, not a spot-caulk repair.
We spec elastomeric coatings and three-coat stucco systems rated for Fountain Hills’ elevation, direct sun, and monsoon wind before we touch a wall.
Tycho Solutions installs interior and exterior painting, drywall, and stucco systems for Fountain Hills’ custom estate homes and new commercial builds, built for the elevation’s intense sun exposure.
On a Fountain Hills custom estate, drywall installation in Fountain Hills means working around expansive great room ceilings, curved bulkheads, and long unbroken wall runs that show every seam if the tape coat isn’t right. We hang, tape, and texture to Level 5 smooth in main living areas and Level 4 in bedrooms and closets, then hold the job until framing and rough inspections clear before we skim a single wall.
As a stucco contractor in Fountain Hills, we work almost exclusively in traditional three coat systems over wire lath, since that’s what holds up best against the direct sun and wind this elevation gets daily. On existing homes we cut out cracked sections back to sound lath rather than skim coating over a moving crack, and we match texture by hand so the patch doesn’t read as a patch once it’s painted.
New construction painting in Fountain Hills has to move in the right order behind framing, drywall, and stucco milestones, not around them. We prime and finish coat interiors after texture and before flooring goes down, and we time exterior color coats after the stucco has cured out enough to hold paint without trapping moisture behind the finish, which matters more at this elevation than it does down in the valley.
Fountain Hills’ commercial corridor is smaller than Scottsdale’s or Mesa’s, but as a commercial painting contractor in Fountain Hills we still schedule retail buildouts and office finish-out around live business hours and tenant move-in dates. Flat-roof shells with stucco parapets get coating and coping detail before interior finish crews arrive, and we carry the liability coverage general contractors and property managers ask for before they sign off.
Builders working the hillside lots trust one crew to move from drywall hang straight into paint and stucco without waiting on a separate sub to show up, and homeowners get a contractor who already knows which coatings hold up at this elevation instead of guessing.
Written warranty coverage on stucco and coating work built for Fountain Hills’ sun exposure and elevation, not the standard valley floor spec.
One point of contact coordinates drywall, paint, and stucco milestones against your framing schedule so nothing sits idle waiting on a sub.
Elastomeric coatings and three coat stucco systems specified for direct sun and monsoon wind, not a valley floor default mix.
Arizona ROC #364735, licensed, bonded, and insured on every Fountain Hills paint, drywall, and stucco job we take on.
Fountain Hills is built out mostly in custom, one-off estate homes on hillside lots rather than production-tract blocks, so no two houses share the same stucco texture, roofline, or color call. That variety means a painting or stucco crew here has to match texture and sheen by eye on every job instead of pulling a standard spec off a shelf, and new construction is still filling in remaining hillside parcels alongside repaint work on homes going back decades.
The stucco itself rarely fails outright, what fails first is the paint film and the caulk at transitions, foam trim returns, and control joints, because those are the points that move the most under daily heat swings at this elevation. Once that seal opens, wind-driven monsoon rain gets behind the finish coat, and repeat failure at the same joint is usually a sign the substrate needs a partial re-stucco, not another coat of paint over the crack.
Fountain Hills’ town design guidelines lean toward earth-tone, low-reflectivity exterior colors that read into the surrounding granite hillsides rather than bright or high-gloss finishes, and custom lots often carry their own architectural review on top of that. We pull the color and finish approval requirements before we order material, so a repaint or new stucco installation doesn’t get flagged mid-job.

Crews who already know how hillside lots, elevation, and monsoon wind change a paint and stucco job.
Interior, exterior, drywall, and stucco handled by one crew instead of four separate subs on your schedule.
Paint and stucco milestones tracked against your framing schedule so the job finishes when we say it will.
Interior painting in Fountain Hills runs on square footage, ceiling height, and how much prep the walls need, and exterior painting in Fountain Hills adds elevation, texture, and how many coats a sun-baked wall needs to hold true color. We walk every job in person and give a written number before anything gets touched, we don’t quote off a photo or a square-foot rule of thumb.
A small hairline crack in a control joint can sometimes wait, but if you’re seeing the same crack open back up every year, or cracking that’s spreading past one panel, that’s a sign the substrate has moved and a patch over it will fail again within a season. At that point it’s cheaper long term to cut back to sound lath and re-stucco the section properly instead of caulking it every spring.
Low-slope commercial roofs drain right at the parapet line, so any new stucco installation in Fountain Hills on a flat-roof shell needs coping caps and flashing set before the finish coat goes on, not after. Skipping that step is the single most common reason we get called back to a commercial parapet within the first year, water gets behind the cap and pushes the stucco off the wall from the inside out.
Yes. As a commercial painting contractor in Fountain Hills we work directly with GCs on retail buildouts and office finish-out, scheduled around inspection dates and tenant move-in rather than a homeowner’s calendar. We carry the licensing, bonding, and insurance commercial GCs require before they’ll add a sub to the schedule, and we can run interior paint, exterior coatings, and stucco patch work on the same shell without bringing in three separate crews.
Fountain Hills requires permits and inspections on new construction and most structural drywall work, and we handle that paperwork as the licensed contractor of record under Arizona ROC #364735, not as a pass-through. Paint and cosmetic stucco patching on an existing home usually doesn’t need a separate permit, but a full re-stucco or a new construction shell does, and we pull those before crews show up on site.
House painters in Fountain Hills work more hillside and estate-lot jobs than tract-home repaints, which means more scaffolding and lift work for vaulted interiors and multi-story exteriors, and more attention to the earth-tone color range the town’s design guidelines favor. On new construction painting in Fountain Hills, we also stay tied to the framing and stucco schedule instead of showing up on a fixed date, since custom builds rarely finish stucco on the day the plan says they will.
