Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.Posted on Google![]()

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!

Paradise Valley’s lots run larger than most Valley cities, and the ground under them is often caliche, a hardpan layer that sits a foot or two down. A shallow base traps water against turf backing or shifts pavers within a season, so the compacted aggregate base gets built to 4 to 6 inches here, not cut thin to save a step.
The other factor is scale. A yard with a pool, a sport court, and a few thousand square feet of turf and pavers needs drainage sized to the whole lot, not just the low corner. Grading and drain lines go in for the full footprint first, so water has somewhere to go during monsoon season instead of pooling against a wall or the house.
We excavate to full depth, grade the entire lot for drainage, and size the base rock to Paradise Valley’s caliche before any turf or paver installation begins.
Paradise Valley’s larger residential lots and desert heat call for backyard work sized to the property, from full-yard turf to graded hardscape that holds up long term.
An outdoor kitchen on a Paradise Valley lot usually sits under or beside a pergola, tied into the same patio pour as the pool deck. We run gas and water lines before the paver base goes down, build the frame from block or steel stud, and finish with a stone or stucco veneer that matches the house rather than a stock cabinet unit.
As a backyard landscaping contractor working larger Paradise Valley lots, we plan turf zones, paver paths, and planting beds as one connected layout instead of separate trades bidding pieces of the yard. Irrigation, low voltage lighting conduit, and drainage lines go in before any turf or paver base, so nothing gets cut open later to add what was missed.
Beyond the main lawn area, artificial turf installation on Paradise Valley properties often covers dog runs, side yards, and narrow strips between block walls where grass never grew well anyway. We use a permeable backing and a heat resistant infill so surface temperature and drainage both hold up against direct desert sun for years, not just one season.
Paver patio installation on Paradise Valley properties often extends past the patio itself into entry walkways and side yard paths that tie the whole property together. We set travertine, concrete, or porcelain over the same compacted base and slope every run away from the foundation, so one continuous surface handles patio, walkway, and pool deck without mismatched grades or standing water at the seams.
Paradise Valley homeowners are usually replacing an older backyard, not starting from bare dirt, so the layout has to work around an existing pool, mature trees, and grade changes already in place. We handle the base work and drainage first, then build on top of a lot engineered to hold up.
Turf carries a 15 year manufacturer warranty plus a 2 year workmanship warranty, so a Paradise Valley yard with heavy pool and patio traffic stays covered.
One team sequences excavation, drainage, turf, and hardscape on your schedule, so a Paradise Valley remodel doesn’t sit half graded for weeks.
UV stabilized, pet friendly turf and travertine, concrete, or porcelain pavers are built to hold color and shape under Paradise Valley’s full sun exposure.
Every grading, drainage, and structure install on your property runs under ROC #364735, licensed, bonded, and insured for Arizona construction work.
Paradise Valley’s housing stock skews toward larger custom lots, many built from the 1970s through the 1990s with room added since for pools, sport courts, and guest casitas. That means backyard work here is rarely a small project. A turf or paver job usually touches an existing pool deck, mature landscaping, and grade changes that were never engineered for today’s drainage expectations, so the scope starts with what’s already there rather than a blank lot.
The part that actually fails first is the base, not the surface material. Turf laid over shallow or poorly compacted aggregate settles unevenly once the caliche layer underneath stops absorbing water, and pavers set the same way shift and develop uneven joints within a year or two. We excavate to full depth, compact in lifts, and grade every square foot of the yard toward a real drainage point before turf, pavers, or a putting green base go down.
Paradise Valley’s design review process tends to be stricter than surrounding cities, with guidelines on visible hardscape colors, wall heights, and screening for pergolas and outdoor kitchens near property lines. We work from the homeowner’s actual guideline packet rather than a standard material list, matching stone tone and structure height to what the review board will approve before ordering anything.

Cost depends mostly on lot size and how much grading the yard needs before turf or pavers go down, since caliche and pool decks add excavation time a flat lot doesn’t. We walk the property, measure the areas, and price the base work separately from turf, paver, and structure materials so you can see what’s driving the number instead of one bundled figure.
It depends on how the original base was built. If the section was excavated and compacted to the same depth as the rest of the yard, we can pull and replace turf in that zone alone. The same applies to paver patio installation in Paradise Valley: if the original base is uneven or undersized, tying new material into it usually fails again within a year, and a fuller remodel is the more honest call.
Flat lots actually need more engineered grading, not less, since there’s no natural fall to carry water away. As a hardscape contractor in Paradise Valley, we build in slope during excavation, typically a couple inches of fall over each paved or turfed run, and tie it into a drain line or a low point at the property edge rather than relying on the ground’s natural grade, which on a flat lot doesn’t exist.
Yes. We work as a backyard landscaping contractor in Paradise Valley for both single homeowners and builders finishing spec or custom homes before a sale, plus HOA common areas and model home yards. On the commercial side we’ve also acted as an outdoor kitchen builder in Paradise Valley for clubhouse and amenity spaces, working from the same base specs and licensing whether the client is one household or a developer.
We build under Arizona ROC #364735, licensed, bonded, and insured for grading, drainage, and structure work statewide. As a pergola builder in Paradise Valley, most freestanding pergolas fall under standard permitting, but attached structures, retaining walls over a certain height, and anything tied into the home’s electrical or plumbing typically need a permit through the town. We pull those permits as part of the project rather than leaving it to the homeowner.
It can go either way. A putting green installation in Paradise Valley can be built as a border strip along an existing pool deck if the yard is tight, or laid out as its own contoured zone with cup placements set before the surrounding turf or pavers go in if there’s room. Larger lots here usually have space for the second option, which gives cleaner sightlines and keeps foot traffic off the green.
