Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!

Desert Landscaping for Fountain Hills

Artificial Turf Installation for Fountain Hills Backyards

Artificial Turf & Paver Installation in Fountain Hills, AZ

Fountain Hills lots sit on granite-based hillsides with limited flat pad space, so most backyard projects start with an access and staging plan before any material shows up. Steep driveways and tight side yards mean equipment often has to be broken down and carried in by hand, and grading has to account for washes that carry monsoon runoff straight through a property.

That terrain changes the build order: retaining and drainage work happens first, then turf, pavers, and structures go in over a stabilized base rather than native soil. Many lots also fall under design review that limits visible turf, wall height, or roofline profiles, so material and layout choices get checked against those standards before construction starts.

Graded For The Terrain

We grade, drain, and stage every Fountain Hills project around the lot’s slope and access before turf, pavers, or structures go in.

Backyard Work We Design and Build in Fountain Hills

Fountain Hills’ hillside lots, rocky soil, and mountain views call for backyard construction that handles elevation and drainage while making the most of the setting.

Traditional landscaping often fails to enhance Fountain Hills’ natural beauty. Artificial turf, thoughtfully designed, creates functional outdoor spaces that work in harmony with your landscape. You save 40,000-60,000 gallons of water annually, eliminate maintenance burden, and create spaces perfect for enjoying your location.

Outdoor Kitchen Builder in Fountain Hills

An outdoor kitchen on a Fountain Hills lot has to hold up to full sun exposure and reflected heat off surrounding rock, so we build with stucco-clad or stacked-stone bases, stainless appliances rated for outdoor use, and countertop stone chosen for UV stability over polished finishes that can craze in direct light. Gas and electrical lines run before any finish work, and layouts account for prevailing wind so smoke and heat clear the seating area.

Backyard Landscaping Contractor in Fountain Hills

As a backyard landscaping contractor working Fountain Hills lots, we plan planting beds, decomposed granite, and irrigation around the slope and rock outcroppings that come with the terrain rather than fighting them. Desert-adapted plant palettes cut water use, drip irrigation gets zoned to each grade change, and low walls or boulder placement double as erosion control on steeper side yards.

Hardscape Contractor in Fountain Hills

Beyond retaining walls, hardscape contractor work in Fountain Hills usually means tying terraced yard levels together with stepped pathways, seat walls, and transition landings that make a sloped lot walkable. We match stone or paver finishes across levels so the yard reads as one connected space instead of separate shelves, and we set lighting into steps and walls for night use on grades where a single misstep matters.

Putting Green Installation in Fountain Hills

Putting green installation on a smaller or irregular Fountain Hills lot usually means fitting the green around existing grade breaks instead of leveling a pad for it, building in a chipping fringe or bunker edge where the yard shape allows rather than forcing a standard oval green. Base drainage sheds water off the surface fast enough that a monsoon downpour does not pool on the green.

Why Builders and Homeowners Choose Us for Artificial Turf Installation in Fountain Hills

Fountain Hills homeowners and builders bring us in because we handle the grading, drainage, and design review requirements that hillside lots create, then carry that same crew through the turf, pavers, structures, and finish work so nothing gets handed off between subcontractors.

Pet & Family Friendly

Turf and hardscape installs carry a manufacturer materials warranty plus our own workmanship warranty, backed by a crew that knows Fountain Hills’ soil and slope.

USA-Made Turf

One crew sequences grading, drainage, and construction across a Fountain Hills project instead of coordinating separate contractors for each stage.

Proper Base Prep

We spec UV-stable turf, dense paver stock, and pressure-treated or steel structural components rated for direct desert sun exposure.

Licensed & Insured

Fully licensed under ROC #364735, bonded, and insured for backyard construction work anywhere in Fountain Hills.

Backyard Construction Across Fountain Hills and the Foothills

Fountain Hills was built out mostly from the 1970s through the 2000s on granite hillside parcels, which means yards here run more toward multi-level pads, view corridors, and retaining walls than the flat quarter-acre lots common in the valley below. A backyard project on one of these lots is rarely a single flat footprint, it is a series of terraced spaces connected by steps, walls, and drainage runs.

The part of a backyard build that actually fails here is the base beneath the finish material, not the finish material itself. Skipping proper compaction or drainage under a paver patio or turf section lets water pool against a retaining wall or undercut a footing after a single monsoon season, and once a slope starts eroding under an installed surface, fixing it means tearing the surface back out. We build the grading and drainage layer first and test it before anything else goes down.

Design review here also shapes material choice more than it does in most valley communities. Many properties sit under review standards that limit wall height, restrict turf visibility from the street, or set roofline and screening requirements for pergolas and outdoor kitchens, so we check those standards against a layout before ordering material rather than after.

Common Questions from Fountain Hills Homeowners

How much does a backyard remodel in Fountain Hills cost?

Cost depends on lot slope, how much grading and drainage work the site needs before any finish material goes in, and how many elements are combined, turf, paver patio, pergola, or an outdoor kitchen, into one project. A hillside lot with retaining walls and multiple terraces costs more to build out than a flat pad of the same size, and a backyard landscaping contractor in Fountain Hills should walk the site and price it against what your specific grade requires before quoting a number over the phone.

We are not set up to do small spot fixes on an existing yard. Tycho’s model is full-system replacement and new installation, whether that means a complete artificial turf installation in Fountain Hills where the old turf has failed, or a full paver patio installation in Fountain Hills once the base underneath has shifted. As a hardscape contractor in Fountain Hills, we would rather rebuild a section on a stabilized base than have the same problem resurface next season.

Yes. Most Fountain Hills lots have some grade change, and a pergola builder in Fountain Hills has to anchor and level the structure to that slope rather than assuming a flat pad. The same goes for a putting green installation in Fountain Hills: on a tight or irregular yard we contour the green and shape a smaller layout around what the lot actually offers instead of forcing a standard footprint that does not fit.

Yes. We work directly with builders and developers on model homes and amenity spaces as well as with individual homeowners, and the scope runs the same either way, from full-yard grading through turf, hardscape, and structures. An outdoor kitchen builder in Fountain Hills project for a builder’s model home follows the same sequencing and material standards as one built for a single homeowner’s backyard.

Yes. Tycho Solutions is licensed, bonded, and insured under Arizona ROC #364735, and we handle permitting for the elements of a backyard project that require it, retaining walls above a certain height, structures like pergolas and outdoor kitchens, and electrical or gas work. Fountain Hills also runs its own design review process separate from the town permit, and we submit for that where a property requires it before construction starts.

Timeline depends on scope: a turf or paver-only project moves faster than one that adds retaining walls, a pergola, and an outdoor kitchen in the same yard. Monsoon season affects sequencing more than it affects whether we can build, since grading and base compaction need dry ground to compact properly. We schedule that stage around the forecast rather than starting excavation into a system that is already tracking toward heavy rain.
