Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.Posted on Google![]()

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!

Chandler’s east side built out mostly in the 2000s and 2010s, and those tract lots run deeper in the rear yard than older lots closer to the valley core. That extra depth is real square footage to build with, but the soil underneath is inconsistent: pockets of caliche hardpan sit under the topsoil in patches across the city.
Trapped water, not the surface material, is what actually fails a backyard here. A turf base without proper drainage will squish and smell after a monsoon storm. A paver base without a perforated drain line heaves the same way. Post footings for a pergola or outdoor kitchen face the same hardpan, so we probe depth before we pour.
We test soil and grade for drainage before laying turf, pavers, or footings, so the finished backyard stays stable through Chandler’s summer storms.
Chandler’s newer subdivisions and larger family lots give us room to build complete backyards: turf, pavers, structures, and drainage installed together as one project.
An outdoor kitchen in a Chandler backyard starts with the gas and electrical stub-outs coordinated into the paver patio pour, not added afterward. We build the island core from block or steel frame, then finish it in stucco, stone veneer, or tile to match the home. Standard components include a built-in grill, a vent hood or open-air clearance, sealed weatherproof cabinetry, and a bar top sized for outdoor seating.
As a backyard landscaping contractor in Chandler, we plan planting beds, drip irrigation, and lighting alongside the turf and hardscape instead of as an afterthought. Low-water desert plants get their own drip zone separate from turf, edged beds keep root systems out of the paver base, and low-voltage lighting is run in conduit before any surface goes down, not trenched in after the fact.
Beyond the standard shade frame, Chandler homeowners often add a motorized louvered roof that closes against summer downpours and opens for airflow the rest of the year, plus integrated LED lighting and a ceiling fan wired in during construction rather than surface-mounted later. Post material runs cedar, powder-coated aluminum, or a stucco-wrapped column to match the home’s exterior.
The turf face on a putting green is a different product than lawn turf: a short, dense nylon or polypropylene nap engineered for a true, consistent ball roll rather than a natural look. We build in a fringe apron that transitions into the surrounding lawn turf, size cup zones to the available yard, and can shape a short-game chipping area into the same footprint where the lot allows.
Chandler builders and homeowners bring us in because we plan the turf, the hardscape, and the structures as one drawing before anyone breaks ground, not as separate trades working around each other. One crew, one schedule, one warranty covers the whole backyard instead of a patchwork of subcontractors.
Chandler backyards carry a 15-year manufacturer warranty on turf materials plus a 2-year workmanship warranty on the full build.
One project manager sequences grading, hardscape, structures, and turf so Chandler crews are never waiting on each other.
USA-made UV-stabilized turf and travertine, concrete, or porcelain pavers are chosen to hold up through Chandler’s long summer heat.
Every Chandler backyard project runs under Arizona ROC #364735, fully licensed, bonded, and insured for homeowners and builders.
Most of Chandler’s residential permits since the early 2000s carry a rear utility easement along one property line and a fixed side-yard setback. That easement holds the main water and sewer stub-outs, so we route irrigation and drainage lines around it at the design stage, not after a permit review sends the plan back. Corner and cul-de-sac lots often leave an irregular rear footprint rather than a clean rectangle, which changes how a paver layout or turf field gets cut.
West and south facing yards without shade see the highest surface temperatures in the valley, and turf that is not UV-stabilized or backed with heat-resistant infill curls at the seams years before a properly specified product would. Paver joint sand on a flat grade also washes out during monsoon runoff if the joints are not compacted and sealed correctly, opening gaps that let weeds establish underneath the surface within a season.
Chandler’s homeowner associations vary by community, but most require architectural approval for anything visible over a rear wall or from the street, including pergola height and paver color. We build to the palette most committees expect: earth-tone pavers that echo the home’s stucco and roof tile, and a natural green turf blade rather than a bright golf-course green, so plans clear review on the first submission.

Cost depends on how much of the yard is being rebuilt, whether it is turf and pavers only or a full backyard remodel in Chandler that adds a pergola, outdoor kitchen, and putting green, and what the existing soil and drainage need before anything gets installed. We do not quote a number off a phone call. A hardscape contractor in Chandler should walk the actual lot, check the soil, and price the real scope before you commit to anything.
Not every backyard needs a full rebuild. If the structures and drainage underneath are sound, a standalone artificial turf installation in Chandler or a paver patio installation in Chandler can replace just the worn section without touching the rest of the yard. We only recommend a full remodel when the base itself has failed, since reinstalling turf or pavers over a bad base just fails again the same way.
A flat yard needs the grade built into the base, not the surface, since there is no natural slope to rely on. We grade the sub-base toward a discharge point, tie in a drain line where turf or pavers sit lowest, and set the finish grade with a slight fall away from the home. A backyard landscaping contractor in Chandler who skips this step ends up with standing water after every summer storm.
Both. We work directly with builders and developers on new Chandler communities, and separately with commercial properties like model homes, clubhouses, and HOA common areas that need turf, hardscape, and structures built to a standard that holds up under heavier public use. An outdoor kitchen builder in Chandler working on a clubhouse project follows the same permitting and inspection process as a single backyard, just at a larger scale.
Most structures with electrical, gas, or a permanent footing need a permit through the City of Chandler, and any HOA in the community typically needs its own design approval separately. We pull the required permits, schedule inspections, and handle HOA submittal paperwork as part of the build. A pergola builder in Chandler who skips permitting on a gas or electrical structure is leaving the homeowner exposed if it is ever inspected or sold.
Most Chandler HOAs allow a putting green if the surrounding turf and layout stay within the community’s general landscaping guidelines, usually a natural turf color and blade height rather than a bright golf-course look. A putting green installation in Chandler can usually be sized and placed to meet those guidelines while still leaving room for a full-size chipping and cup rotation, but we confirm your specific HOA’s rules before we design the layout.
