Tycho Solutions designs and installs solar panel installation in Paradise Valley, AZ, on new builds and existing homes. Modeled to your usage, not a stock package.

Most Paradise Valley homes we work on are large custom builds from the 1970s through the 2000s, set on generous lots with multiple roof planes and, on many properties, a detached guest house or casita carrying its own service panel. Concrete and clay S-tile dominates, though newer contemporary builds mix in flat foam sections over covered patios and garages. That roof geometry, more planes and more valleys than a typical subdivision home, shapes where an array can go and how much conduit run it takes to reach the main panel.
That matters directly for solar. Racking penetrates the roof deck at dozens of points, and mounting a system onto tile with failing underlayment means pulling the array back off within a few years to re-roof underneath it. We check the roof assembly before we design a system, so panels go onto a deck built to outlast them, not one already on borrowed time.
We model your actual usage and roof, then show you the production and payback before you commit to anything.
From custom-designed solar panel systems to battery backup and EV charging, we handle every stage of your Paradise Valley solar installation, from permitting through final inspection.
We design and install rooftop solar arrays sized to Paradise Valley’s large, high-consumption homes. Panel layout accounts for multiple roof planes, tile and flat roof types, and mounting that keeps sightlines clean on prominent, view-oriented properties.
Every Paradise Valley solar installation goes through town permitting and, on most properties, HOA architectural review before work begins. We prepare the application package, schedule inspections, and coordinate final Permission to Operate with your utility so the system goes live without delay.
We install Level 2 EV chargers in Paradise Valley garages, many of which hold multiple vehicles, and wire them into your solar system so charging draws from panel output instead of peak-rate grid power. Chargers can also run as a standalone circuit.
Battery backup keeps large Paradise Valley homes running through monsoon-season grid outages, covering pool equipment, well pumps, and cooling loads that a small backup system can’t handle. We size battery capacity to your home’s actual peak draw, not a generic package.
Paradise Valley’s larger residential lots often include guest houses, casitas, or detached structures beyond easy reach of the main electrical panel. We design standalone off grid systems, sized for battery-only operation, to power these structures without a new utility connection.
Paradise Valley’s commercial base is mostly small scale: boutique retail, offices, and hospitality properties rather than industrial sites. We design commercial solar systems sized to daytime business hours and roof or carport space, with system design that meets commercial permitting requirements.

Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.Posted on Google![]()

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!
Paradise Valley’s large lots and high-consumption homes mean solar sizing, roof condition, and electrical capacity all have to line up before a system goes on the roof. We handle the roof assessment, panel design, permitting, and inspection under one license, so nothing falls between separate contractors.
Panel and racking hardware selected for Paradise Valley’s tile and flat roof mix, not a one-size mounting kit pulled from a truck.
One crew sequences roof assessment, panel design, permitting, and inspection, so a Paradise Valley install doesn’t stall between separate contractors.
Manufacturer-backed warranty coverage on the panels and inverter, plus a written workmanship warranty on every Paradise Valley installation.

The roof deck is what actually fails, not the tile sitting on top of it. Years of desert UV cook the underlayment brittle, and monsoon wind drives rain under ridge caps and valley flashing long before a stain shows up inside. Every racking point we add is a new penetration through that same assembly, so mounting onto a roof with failing underlayment means pulling the array back off within a few years to re-roof underneath it. We check deck condition before we design, not after installation.
Paradise Valley’s architectural review process covers panel visibility, mounting hardware color, and conduit routing. We lay out arrays on roof planes screened from the street where the geometry allows, and route conduit to match roof and wall color before it reaches a review board.

We design the panel array, battery, and EV charging as one system, not three separate add-ons bolted together.
Sized and installed for Paradise Valley’s heat load, tile roof mix, and large-property electrical demand, not a generic install.
Permitting, HOA review, and installation scheduled to a written timeline, so your Paradise Valley project doesn’t stall waiting on approvals.
Cost depends on system size, roof type, and whether the project is a full new install or a solar system upgrade in Paradise Valley adding panels or battery to an existing array. Paradise Valley’s larger homes and higher consumption usually mean a bigger array than a typical Phoenix metro rooftop, which changes the number more than the base rate does. We size the system to your actual usage and roof condition, then give you a written quote before any work starts.
If the roof going under the array is original tile from an older build, a patch repair usually buys a season, not a permanent fix, and it can void the roof warranty right where we need to mount racking. On an aging tile roof we’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense before solar goes on, rather than mounting a system onto a roof we know will need to come off again in a few years.
Yes. Flat and low-slope sections, common on foam roofs and covered patio extensions on newer Paradise Valley builds, use a tilted racking system that angles panels toward the sun instead of laying them flush. We also plan penetration points around the roof’s drainage slope so mounting hardware doesn’t create a new low point for ponding water.
Both. On new builds we work directly with the framing and electrical crews so conduit runs and roof penetrations are planned before the roof is even dried in, which is cleaner and cheaper than retrofitting later. On existing homes we assess the current roof and panel capacity first, then design around what’s already there.
Yes, for boutique retail spaces, offices, and small hospitality properties, we schedule installation around business hours so the property stays open during the work, and we coordinate directly with the property manager or ownership group on system design and inspection timing. Commercial jobs go through the same town permitting process as residential work, just with a larger electrical service to plan around.
Yes, Tycho Solutions is licensed, bonded, and insured under Arizona ROC #364735, and we carry that license on every Paradise Valley solar job we pull a permit for. We handle the permit application and inspection scheduling as part of the installation, so you’re not the one tracking down approvals from the town.
