Mike returned my call for assistance within a few hours, he inspected the damage from the recent storm and sent me an estimate within hours. The work was completed the next day just ahead of more storms. He explained the entire process and was very professional. I hope I don’t need his services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate to trust the job to his team.Posted on Google![]()

Tycho Solutions recently replaced the original tile roof on our 23 year old residence. We could not be more pleased with their level of professionalism and the quality of work. Mike and Brock were great in explaining the process, the type of materials used, and what to expect. Their crew was cordial, friendly, and efficient. At the end of each day they used a magnetic device to retrieve discarded nails and fasteners, made sure all debris was inside their dumpster, and used a blower to eliminate the inevitable dust that results from replacing a roof. At the end of the project, they did a roof-top inspection of the work to make sure all details were addressed. We felt their pricing was very reasonable with top-notch customer service. We have no hesitation to refer them to friends!

Cave Creek’s soil is decomposed granite over a caliche hardpan that will not drain like ordinary topsoil, and many lots here run half an acre or larger with real grade changes across the yard. Turf and pavers set without breaking through that hardpan and building a true compacted base settle within a year, pooling water after monsoon storms instead of shedding it.
Because lots run larger and sit on more exposed, sun-baked ground than in the closer-in suburbs, a full backyard installation has to account for more linear feet of drainage, deeper base prep, and turf backing rated for surface temperatures that regularly clear 150 degrees in July. That means a full, properly sequenced installation from the start, not shortcuts that fail in year two.
We break through the caliche layer, build a true compacted base, and grade every install to move monsoon water away from the house.
From large-lot ranch properties to newer desert-view construction, we install artificial turf, pavers, and complete backyard upgrades suited to Cave Creek’s terrain and lifestyle.
An outdoor kitchen on a Cave Creek lot needs to survive direct summer sun and dust more than it needs to look good on day one. We build with stainless appliances, concrete or stone counters rated for outdoor exposure, and gas and electrical runs sized and permitted for the full load, positioned under or near your pergola so the cook isn’t standing in full sun at 6pm in July.
As a backyard landscaping contractor working across Cave Creek’s larger lots, we plan turf, planting beds, pathways, and hardscape as one connected layout instead of separate projects stitched together over time. That means one grading plan, one drainage plan, and materials chosen to hold up against direct desert sun rather than picked piecemeal as budget allows.
For Cave Creek families with dogs or kids using the yard daily, we install USA-made, UV-stabilized turf with an infill and drainage layer built for heavy use, not just looks. The base is compacted before any turf goes down, so the surface drains fast after a monsoon storm instead of holding standing water or odor.
A backyard putting green here doubles as a design feature, not just a golf surface. We shape multi-speed synthetic turf with real break and contour, set cups at varied hole lengths, and border the green with pavers or planting beds so it reads as part of the yard’s design, not an add-on dropped into open lawn.
Builders and homeowners on Cave Creek’s larger lots need a crew that treats site prep as the real work, not the step before the real work. We handle grading, drainage, and base compaction in house, so the turf, pavers, and structures we build on top stay flat and dry for years.
Turf materials carry a 15-year manufacturer warranty, backed by our own 2-year workmanship warranty on every Cave Creek install.
One crew manages grading, base work, hardscape, and structures on your Cave Creek property, so nothing gets handed off or delayed.
USA-made, UV-stabilized turf and travertine, concrete, or porcelain pavers built to hold up against Cave Creek’s summer sun and monsoon runoff.
Fully licensed, bonded, and insured under Arizona ROC #364735, with every Cave Creek project pulled and inspected under permit.
Cave Creek covers everything from older large-lot ranch properties to newer desert-view construction pushed up against the foothills, and lot size does more to shape a backyard project here than it does closer to the city. A half-acre or full-acre yard means more square footage of turf to base and drain, more linear feet of paver edge restraint, and often a slope from the house pad down to the property line that has to be graded before anything else goes in.
The part of a Cave Creek backyard that actually fails is almost always the base, not the surface material. Turf laid over ungraded native soil traps water after monsoon storms and the seams separate as the ground shifts underneath. Paver patios set without 4 to 6 inches of properly compacted aggregate rock, tilt, and crack at the joints within a few seasons as the base settles unevenly. We excavate, compact, and grade every project before turf or stone goes down, which is the step that determines whether the finished surface stays flat for years or fails within one.
Cave Creek has fewer master-planned communities and HOA design boards than the closer-in suburbs, giving homeowners more freedom on material and layout, though some properties still carry deed restrictions on fencing height and visible hardscape that we confirm before design begins.

Cost depends on square footage, the depth of excavation your soil needs, and which materials you choose, so a paver patio installation in Cave Creek priced against a smaller suburban yard is not an apples-to-apples comparison. We measure your lot, walk you through the base work your property actually needs, and give you a written number before any digging starts.
Small cosmetic fixes rarely last on turf that is failing at the base, since the seams and drainage underneath are usually the real problem, not the top layer. If your turf is more than a few years old or was installed without proper base compaction, a full artificial turf installation in Cave Creek almost always outlasts and outperforms spot fixes, and we will tell you honestly which situation you are in before we quote anything.
Yes, sloped lots are common on the larger Cave Creek properties we work on. We regrade the slope, add retaining or terracing where needed, and build drainage into the base itself so a putting green installation in Cave Creek or a paver patio does not wash out or pool water after a monsoon storm. This is exactly the kind of site a hardscape contractor in Cave Creek should be handling the grading on before anything else is installed.
Yes. We work with property managers, HOAs, and developers on commercial and multi-family outdoor spaces around Cave Creek, from turf and hardscape at a clubhouse or model home to a full outdoor kitchen builder in Cave Creek scope for a restaurant patio. Commercial projects go through the same base prep and drainage planning as a residential yard, just at a larger scale.
Tycho Solutions is licensed, bonded, and insured under Arizona ROC #364735, and we pull permits for the work that requires one, such as gas and electrical runs for an outdoor kitchen or structural footings for a pergola. As a backyard landscaping contractor in Cave Creek, we handle the permit process with the town directly so you are not tracking down inspections yourself.
Spring and fall are the busiest and most comfortable windows to work in, but we build through the summer too, we just plan turf and paver base work around monsoon storms so freshly excavated ground is not sitting open when a storm hits. If you want a pergola builder in Cave Creek on site before peak summer heat, book your design walkthrough in late winter so material lead times do not push the build into July.
